Parade of Homes winners announced; event is this weekend

The Flathead Building Association has announced the 2017 Flathead Valley Parade of Homes award winners.

The Parade of Homes is this weekend, Sept 8, 9 and 10. The judging occurs prior to the Parade, with the exception of the People’s Choice award, which is conducted during the parade, by attendee vote, and will be announced after the Parade.

Homes are judged against others in their price range in the Parade, and then for several overall awards.

The Judges Choice Award this year was awarded to Malmquist Construction for their “Water’s Edge” home in Whitefish.

The other winners were:

Best Kitchen Executive — Finmark Construction, “Grand Marais.”

Best Kitchen Elite — Malmquist Construction, “Snow Bear Chalet.”

Best Kitchen Dream — Malmquist Construction, “Water’s Edge.”

Best Master Suite Executive — Building By Jon, “Double Eagle Nest.”

Best Master Suite Elite — Finmark Construction, “Lac La Belle Retreat.”

Best Master Suite Dream — Brandt Construction, “Yampah.”

Best of Class Executive — Building By Jon, “Double Eagle Nest.”

Best of Class Elite — Old Montana Building Company, “The Modern Farmhouse.”

Best of Class Dream — Brandt Construction, “Yampah.”

Best Floor Plan of Class Executive — Building By Jon, “Double Eagle Nest.”

Best Floor Plan of Class Elite — Old Montana Building Company, “The Modern Farmhouse.”

Best Floor Plan of Class Dream — Malmquist Construction, “Water’s Edge.”

Best Architectural Appeal — Brandt Construction, “Yampah.”

Best Craftsmanship — Malmquist Construction, “Snow Bear Chalet.”

Best Interior Decor — Malmquist Construction, “Water’s Edge.”

Best Kitchen — Malmquist Construction, “Water’s Edge.”

Best Master Suite — Brandt Construction, “Yampah.”

Best Curb Appeal — Brandt Construction, “Yampah.”

Special Recognition for Value and Quality — Ron Terry Construction, “Lake View.”

The Flathead Building Association thanked the participating builders, Sliter’s Lumber and Building Supply as co-host for the Parade, and the Whitefish Credit Union for their grand prize sponsorship.
