Joyce Elaine Steele

Joyce Elaine Steele, 91, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister peacefully passed away on Nov. 14, 2017.

The Lord called Joyce home to join the love of her life, her amazing husband of 63 years Homer Lyle Steele, who passed away on July 11, 2010.

Joyce was born March 12, 1926 in Wolfpoint to Ione and William Wilkinson.

She married her high school sweetheart, a very handsome football star, Homer Steele on April 23, 1949.

They lived happily in the house Homer built in Columbia Heights. He worked building Hungry Horse Dam, then for Columbia Falls Aluminum Co. for 36 years. Joyce was able to stay home raising their four children, Kim, Cheryl, Shane, and Shawn.

The family made wonderful memories taking fun trips every year. Also boating, waterskiing, and camping. They enjoyed snow skiing on Big Mountain during the winter.

Joyce and Homer were married again in Cardston Alberta Temple as members of the LDS Church. They had the most wonderful life together!

After Homer retired, they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to Arizona and California.

Joyce was a very loving, friendly, red head with a cute sense of humor. She dearly loved her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her children: Kim W. Steele, Cheryl D. Sands and husband Mike, Shane L. Steele and wife Kim, Shawn D. Steele and wife Debbie, and her sister Barbara Hentges. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren: Angela Schoonober husband Chris and children Brenton and Breanna; Tina Sands and son Brandon; Michael Sands wife Dina and children Megan, Marissa, and Shawn; Shane Steele wife Sonya and children Shelby and Zach; Andy Steele wife Jennifer and children Drew and Jax; Kasey Steele wife Dawn and son David, Kyle Peterson; Jeremy Steele wife Naomi and children Kirsten and Andon; Jamie Griffith husband Ryan and children Coltin and Sierra; Kandis Duff husband Dan and children Joey and Berkley; and Kelsey Steele and fiancé Nikolas Davis.
