Wildcat swimmers take 7th in Missoula

Columbia Falls swimmers finished in the top-10 in 13 events over the weekend as the Wildcats finished seventh at the Missoula Invitational.

Russell Albin finished third in the 100 yard butterfly and sixth in the 200 yard IM to pace the boys, who finished sixth overall, while Kelton Thomas was fifth in the 50 yard freestyle and ninth in the 100 yard backstroke.

Sam Pierce was seventh in the 100 yard freestyle and Peyton Malmberg was seventh in the 200 yard IM.

The boys 400 yard freestyle relay team of Albin, Thomas, Pierce and Malmberg finished third and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Albin, Thomas, Malmberg and Braxton Shewalter was fourth.

Emerald Templin finished seventh for the girls in the 200 yard IM while Kailey Schrader was seventh in the 100 yard breaststroke and eighth in the 100 yard freestyle.

Hannah Callender was ninth in the 100 yard freestyle and Maddy Stoddard and Shai Moultray took ninth and 10th in the 500 yard freestyle, respectively.

The girls 400 yard freestyle relay team of Jayna Moultray, Shai Moultray, Callender and Schrader finished sixth while the 200 yard medley relay team of Makayla Cummings, Katie Triplett, Bridget Barta and Schrader finished ninth.

The team will be in action at their home pool this weekend as Columbia Falls and Whiefish host the Cat/Dog Invitational at The Wave in Whitefish Saturday.
