MatCats fall to Polson, bounce back against Ronan

After a rough outing against the Polson Pirates and Corvallis Bluedevils at home Tuesday, the MatCats wrestling team bounced back with a strong showing at home Thursday as they hosted Ronan and Bigfork.

Ayden Role, Colten McPhee and Jakob Freeman picked up the only three wins for the Cats against the Pirates their were not forfeited as all three pinned their opponents Tuesday. Role pinned Dugan Davis in 1:50, McPhee took down Justice Moore in 52 seconds and Freeman took care of Jasper Drake in 2:09. Polson won the match, 46-24. Results against Corvallis were unavailable.

The Cats had a strong showing Thursday as they hosted Ronan and Bigfork for a triangular meet. The Cats went 11-6 on the evening winning eight matches by pin as Thomas Peters and Ayden Role both picked up two victories. Sam Despain had the fastest pin of the evening, taking down Ronanís Christian Smith in 32 seconds while McPhee dispatched Ronanís Jamison Webster in 46 seconds.

The Cats will be back in action Jan. 4-5 at the Western Montana Duals in Ronan.
