Swim team gets last tune up before state tourney

The Wildcat swim team got its last warmup before state over the weekend as Columbia Falls competed at the large Missoula Invitational Meet.

James Role had the top finsih for the Cats at the meet, coming in sixth in the boys 500 freestyle with a time of 6:24.17.

Conner Cheff, Russell Albin and Emerald Templin was seventh in the boys 200 individual medley with a time of 2:37.52, Albin was seventh in the boys 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.07 and Templin was seventh in the girls 500 freestyle with a time of 6:13.44.

Peyton Malberg was eighth in the boys 100 breaststroke while Sam Pierce was ninth. The Cats had two other top-10 finishes as Albin was ninth in the boys 50 freestyle and Templin took ninth in the girls 200 individual medley.

State will be Feb. 8-9 in Bozeman.
