The Columbia Falls High School tennis teams had a busy week as they prepare to host the divisional tournament at FCVV this weekend.

Columbia Falls played host to Polson at FVCC last Tuesday as sophomore Hannah Schweikert knocked off Polson’s defending Class A singles state champion Shea McGuinness in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. The Wildkats also got a win from Maria Garcia Vizcay, who took down Taylor Bloomfield 6-0, 3-6, 7-5.

They were the only wins for the Kats, though, as Polson won the match 5-2.

Polson also defeated the Wildcats 5-2 as Colton Byrd beat Ryan Doss 6-3, 6-4 and John Gilk and Camryn Lingle took down Polson’s Anton LeftHand and Trevor Shultz, 7-5, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1.

The Cats were 4-3 victors over Libby Friday as Niels Getts and Dyllan Anderson won singles matches while Gilk and Lingle and Greg Williamson and Trey Perkins picked up doubles victories.

Getts, Dillon Washington, Bobby Dewbre, Gilk and Lingle and Malachi Brower and Caleb Reinsberg all got wins Saturday as the Cats beat Hamilton 5-0 and Gilk and Lingle picked up a win as the Cats fell to Corvallis later on Saturday, 1-6.
